Now the maternity leave for women Brazilian military is six months.

Was sanctioned this Wednesday (25) 13,109 law/2015, which extends to about 23 thousand military women the possibility of maternity leave to six months, as is already provided to civilian public servants. The project (22 PLC/2013), authored by own executive power, was approved in the Senate in February.

According to the law, the military will be entitled to maternity leave of 120 days, extendable for another 60, as provided for in the Act 11,770/2008. The license will begin counting of childbirth or the ninth month of pregnancy, if it is of interest to the pregnant woman. If the baby is premature, the period will count from the birth.
In the case of abortion, the military will be entitled to 30 days ‘ leave for health treatment. In addition, the pregnant woman shall have the right to change of function when health conditions so require, returning after the end of the license.
In the case of adopters, the project ensures paid leave for 90 days to the military to adopt child with up to one year of age and for 30 days in the case of a child with more than a year. The military already is father, or adopt a child, you will be entitled to leave of five days in a row.
The project establishes that, during the period of breast-feeding until the child completes six months of age, the military will be entitled, during the workday, about an hour’s rest, which may be divided into two periods of half an hour.
